Kerchoonz is a new social networking where one can make new friends and keep in touch with old friends. Such type of social networking sites are common. So you can ask me what's the difference between Kerchoonz and other social networking sites. Kerchoonz is a complete social networking sites.

Unknown

At Kerchoonz one can

  • Listen and download music, also watch music videos.
  • Play games
  • Listen radio
  • Create groups, chat with friends and more.

What I like in Kerchoonz is they also offer free downloads. You can download your favorite music or a music video to your computer without paying and at the same time paying the artists for their efforts, it's legal. This is a tough one to handle. Allowing users to download music for free and at the same time paying the amount to artists is a difficult one. But Kerchoonz does it right in a legal way. Kerchoonz is also a good platform for new upcoming bands and individual artists. Another great feature I like in Kerchoonz is you'll be paid. When a band or artist you referred sign up with Kerchoonz then you'll be paid $5 for referring them. So it's a win-win situation at Kerchoonz. So sign up at Kerchoonz today and experience a whole new type of social network.

Today I wanna share a piece of information with you which has become hot topic on many forums. Actually the rumor is about Norton challenge. Symantec has re-engineered its products to speed them up. But through the past years Symantec has earned reputation for giving good protection at the cost of eating away system resources. Though Symantec did a lot of improvement this time, many people still don't believe in Symantec. They don't care if Symantec does good or not and continue to hate Norton.

So to make them realize, Symantec has started a challenge contest. The challenge is to change your impression about Symantec products. Symantec want to change people's idea that Symantec listens to its customers and will consider their valuable feedback in developing future products. This is what is done with Norton 2009 products. Symantec is giving away Norton Internet Security 2009 product free for one year. So that you test and you'll change your impression about Norton. Don't know what made Symantec take this costly challenge but this is true.Symantec is challenging you by giving away Norton Internet Security 2009 free for one year. Wanna take this challenge? Click here to take Symantec's challenge.

I call this rumor because till now only some people has made it. Symantec people will process the registrations personally and will send Norton Internet Security via postal mail. So its tough to get your registration approved. Here are some tips by me to get your registration approved. First of all don't register with a free e-mail, because this challenge is for Norton sellers & resellers they expect to have company's email. Rather than free email services like Yahoo, Gmail and hotmail use the email provided by your ISP. Now-a-days many ISP providers also give free space for emails. So use it in registration. Enter company name something related to business, don't enter your name here but enter something like "Trading Security Solutions", some thing like that. Enter Company's address as your real address because remember they will send via Postal service. So don't give fake address.

It takes time to receive your product because everything is processed manually. Try your luck. All the best!

Have you noticed the image ticker on right side of this page?

This ticker will show you softwares that are being given free to millions of people around the globe. Giveawayoftheday is the site which gives away software free for one day. This way the software developers can promote their software and also we can get the software free genuinely rather than searching rapidshare or bittorrent. Check the ticker daily if they are giving away the software you are searching for. If so you can get it legally free. I think you like it.

Auto-fill softwares like Roboform, Google toolbar helps you by filling forms automatically. On one side you think it helps you because they saves you time. But do you know that there are more chances that you fall prey to spammers? This is how it goes.

When you enable auto-fill software to fill your forms, they fill the forms with your details without your concern. Whatever website it is, if it founds the word "e-mail" and a blank space, then the software fills it with your e-mail address automatically. Think once if the site you are visiting is a spam site. Then your mailbox will be full of spam emails only. Now-a-days these softwares has became more advanced that if you give your credit card details, then they fill them too...

That's why manual form filling is more safe. Just takes a minute to fill form, So why become lazy :-)

Mozilla Firefox is the second most used browser next to Internet Explorer. Firefox has many advantages over  IE and the main advantage is the way it surfs the internet. It has many security features that IE lacks and most important are the free addons that are developed by Mozilla Community. Though IE also has this type of addons, many of them are not  free. This is where Firefox beats IE. Firefox offers good safety while you surf without compromising the speed at which page loads and the system memory. So its time for IE users to shift to Firefox (my personal recommendation).

To download firefox, click here.

Now let us add more security to the secure browser. These are the must have addons for firefox.

1. Adblock Plus : (Bandwidth saver)

Are worried about those flashing ads and images that you hate to see? then this addon is for you. This addon blocks the flash ads and images that are not appropriate. These unnecessary Flash, images, audio Ads eats away your bandwidth everytime they load. If you are on a limited bandwidth connection then this addon will help you a lot. To  get this addon, click here.

2. NoScript :

Almost every site uses Active-X and Javascripts. Scripts are used for good and also for bad. Many spyware spread through these scripts. This addon lets you allow the scripts from the sites you trust and protects you from harmful sites. To  get this addon, click here.

3. Flashblock :  (Bandwidth saver)

This addon blocks every flash animation when it comes in your way. In Adblock plus, you have block those images and animations manually but Flashblock blocks them automatically. To  get this addon, click here.

4. WOT :

This addon is similar to Mcafee's SiteAdvisor and AVG's Linkscanner. This addon is optional if you are using a similar addon. To  get this addon, click here.

5. Stealther :

When you surf internet many sites loads cookies and tracks you invisibly. This addon disables the Browsing history and cookies and more. thus without leaving a trace on you computer. To  get this addon, click here

I always surprise how hackers get many license keys of Kaspersky and Nod32. Because these license keys that they post work until the company finds it and blacklists it. Even hackers created sites for publishing these keys. These keys that they post are daily updated. This has been a big question to me. How they get these keys daily? May be they work in that company. But that's not the case. Raymond has find something interesting that leads to genuine license keys being hacked. Click here to find more about this.

Don't know why the Security solution companies cannot protect themselves. A simple tool has exploited the security company servers and retrieve genuine license and distribute it to others (hackers).

Do you think these security vendors protect us when they are unable to protect themselves?

With the release of iPhone, Apple has made new rivals to it. Till now Apple's main rival has been Microsoft and now with the release of its new iPhone, Apple has made another BIG rival and it is the mobile developer leader NOKIA.

Recently Nokia has released their first media player "Nokia Music" for windows only. Everyone knows how popular is the iTunes from Apple. iTunes is major success not only on Mac but also on windows due to its stylish look and easy to use nature. But iTunes on windows has been a burden for many of users due its inability to play wma files. wma files are very common files on windows and some major Music stores sell their songs in this format only. Using iTunes and converting their wma files into AAC has been major trouble for people who have large music database. Nokia has overcame this problem with their new Music player known as "Nokia Music". The only difference between iTunes and Nokia Music is the playback of wma files.

This Nokia Music offers all features that many players offer like playback, ripping and syncing songs to portable players (Mainly Nokia phones). So people who like iTunes may give it a try and see which is better and if possible comment on which is better iTunes or Nokia Music?

You can download Nokia Music Player from here. (WIndows XP & Vista Only)

"Sorry! We're unable to complete your product registration at this time" - AOL.

There has been a lot of buzz when AOL stopped its Active shield and started providing Mcafee Security for free. Every forum and tech sites discussed a lot about this. But giving a $39.99 product free for everyone involves a lot of money, So what AOL thought is giving Mcafee Security to a member once a year.

Let's suppose a person downloads Mcafee VirusScan Plus from AOL by signing into his account. After a month he wants to try another security product, so he installs this AOL Mcafee and installs another product. Again after few days he wants to go back to Mcafee, So he goes to AOL security central and select a package. In the next page AOL wants you to sign-in. He enters his username and password then to his surprise AOL says the above BOLD letters, "Sorry! We're unable to complete your product registration at this time". It says "Sorry!.... at this time". So he tries the next day and again the same reply from AOL.

Actually AOL has to mention that it only allows its members to download Mcafee once a year. But AOL doesn't mention this but it says registration failed this time. The user may think that there is a problem this time and he'll try later. This actually misleads the members and AOL loses its reputation. May be this is the way AOL reduces it's expenditure or what so ever. So let's see how to fix this problem.

The only way to fix this is to create another AOL account and use that account to download Mcafee Security software. So every time you have to create a new AOL account to download Mcafee VirusScan Plus or Mcafee Internet Security successfully.

If you find this irritating then you can check this article by which you Mcafee VirusScan Plus free for one year. It's very simple and easy way to get genuine Mcafee VirusScan Plus free for one year.

Today I downloaded Kaspersky Internet Security to see how good is it than the previous version. So, I downloaded it and started installation and I selected "Express Install" after that a window appeared telling that KIS install cannot go further because of this "Mcafee Internet Security with Siteadvisor 2008".

But actually Mcafee Internet Security is not installed. Kaspersky wrongly identifies Siteadvisor as Internet Security and do not install KIS on your system. So I uninstalled Siteadvisor because I was more curious about new KIS features. After uninstalling Siteadvisor I again tried to install KIS but it again shows you the same old story...

If you are facing this problem (like me) you have to follow these steps in order to install kaspersky.
Step1 : Uninstall Siteadvisor.
Step2 : Download Ccleaner and install it. After installing run Ccleaner to clean Registry errors and junk files.
Step3 : Select "RUN" from start menu and type in "regedit".
Step4 : Now go here "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SiteAdvisor" and delete siteadvisor Entry (Right click on it to delete).

Now the installation of Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 goes smoothly without any problem. After KIS is installed reboot your machine and you can install Siteadvisor.
Click here (Firefox , IE) to download latest Siteadvisor.

In today's world a home without a PC is rarely seen. Also a PC without any problem is also a rare case. Every PC owner have had problems like virus, spyware, slow system startup etc etc.. So to have trouble free PC many companies have tried and I can say they are successful at their work. Most of the companies will sell their software to users at certain price or even at a special discount offer. But many PC users think that there is no need to buy we can get them at some torrent site, so why buy? This kind of thinking is making them prone to more troubles not only with computer but also at society. It's illegal to steal somebody's software even a child knows that. OK let's not deviate this topic, let's go back to the original topic. So what are the most common problems that a PC user have.

  1. Internet Security
  2. PC maintenance (slow startup, non responsiveness...)

So the above problems are major ones and there are also many minor problems other than these. So let's find solution to these problems.

Internet Security : Let's consider the best Internet security suite Kaspersky. It will take care of most of the security vulnerabilities.

PC maintenance : This category can be subdivided into many categories. But let us consider two main things. Registry errors and junk file cleaner. Here my choice would be Registry mechanic and Privacy guardian.

Now let's calculate how much it costs to have a trouble free PC.

  • Kaspersky Internet Security (upto 3 PC) - $79.95 or Rs.3500 ( may vary if there are special offers), So let's us assume that there's a special offer and you can get it at $59.9
  • Registry mechanic - $24.5 or Rs.1100
  • Privacy Guardian - $24.5 or Rs.1100

These are basic needs and it takes around $128.95 per annum.

But today we have a service from a Indian company Yuvayantra (A Tata Product) offers these products at unbelievable price. Let's see it

  • Kaspersky Internet Security (upto 3 PC) - $22.4 or Rs.999
  • Registry Mechanic - $11.2 or Rs.500
  • Privacy Guardian - $11.2 or Rs.500

So you are getting the same products at a cost of $44.8 per annum, So you save around $84.15!!!. With this amount you can happily subscribe 6 months with Napster Unlimited service. Now you have a trouble free PC and also an entertainment machine for the same cost for which you are getting only trouble free PC if you buy them at official stores.

But this yuvayantra service is only for Indian customers. So if you too want to have this service then you can follow this guide to proxies and have this offer. Using an Indian proxy you can subscribe to this wonderful service.

Here are some more special offers that are offered at yuvayantra

  • Spyware Doctor ($24.5) for only $11.5
  • Onspeed Web accelerator ($47) for only $2
  • Kaspersky Antivirus ($59.95) for FREE!!!

So subscribe now and cash this wonderful opportunity.

So Google has made its intentions very clear that their new Chrome (Name of Google's Browser) is going to decrease the share of Microsoft Internet Explorer. Everyone knows about the dispute between Google and Microsoft and recently they have exchanged words when Microsoft bid for Yahoo Search Engine. So let's get into the core of the topic.

The new Google Chrome has made a huge impact on the field of internet browsing with some outstanding results that it gave at some tests made by Cnet. So to see those test in details click here.
Here is brief look at the tests conducted by Cnet.

  • Google's Chrome trounces Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari on speed tests for JavaScript
  • Google's Chrome browser is outperforming the latest "stable" builds of both and Internet Explorer 7 in the popular Acid3 test.
Moreover the new Google's Chrome is not going to be a proprietary browser but it's going to be an open source like Firefox. Already Google made clear to their rivals that there is tough competition ahead by making available Google Docs which makes spreadsheets, presentations and documents at a low fare and some are free which can be accessed from any web browser. So let's wait and see for the official release of Chrome and how well it perform...

Update : Google Chrome Beta is now available for download. You can download it from Google Homepage.

“Download manager for sites like Rapidshare, MegaUpload, etc.”

I just saw an interesting one at Yahoo! Answers which says "there is some program which is called universal down loader.its supposed to automatically put rapid share links so after one file finishes downloading another one file will start downloading automatically".

It's been real pain when downloading from file sharing sites except some to wait for some time, enter captcha correctly, and also you are not allowed to download files simultaneously and you have to wait for some time even to start a new download after completing a download. This is the way the file sharing sites frustrates their users and tend them to buy a premium account.

So this download manager makes everything that is told above except entering captcha. The only thing you are going to do is provide the download manager with a correct link. It automatically downloads files one after the other. It is configured to work with more than a hundred free hosting services, including the most popular ones like RapidShare, MegaUpload or YouSendIt. It can also be integrated into Firefox (with the FlashGot extension) and Internet Explorer, plus monitor the Windows Clipboard for copied download links.

Some other interesting features are compatibility with proxy servers, the ability to schedule tasks, support for remote control and automatic program updates. So give a try...

Download : Universal download manager
