Is your PC a victim of spyware, virus, hijacking etc?

Then these are the basic steps that you must take as a PC owner.

1.Retrospection
1.Why your PC is infected?
-> I downloaded some shareware products from torrents, rapidshare, etc and during installation these programs installed a virus.
-> I was surfing web and on clicking ads on some sites(porn sites...) installed spyware which make annoying pop-ups and unnecessarily opening web browsers.
-> I brought my friends USB and when I connected it to my PC from then onwards my PC is restarting momentarily or my OS gives error messages on startup or I can't use some of the functions of my PC that I was able to access earlier.

2.Solutions

Healing your infected PC can be a simple to a very complex one. If it's asimpler one then normal antiviruses and antispywares will remove the infection. If even an up-to-date antivirus is not able to detect the infection on your PC even in safe mode then the only solution is formatting the entire drive.
There are many products out there and I can't afford putting money, then is there any solution for people like me? Yes, some generous antivirus companies are giving basic protection for free like AVG, Avira, Avast, Comodo.. now a days there is no need for buying antivirus unless you run business. 3."Prevention is better than cure"

It is always the best way to prevent the infection than curing the infection. So we have to prevent the installing of virus or spyware at the initial stage only. A good firewall will protect us from other hacker attacks and prevent trojan downloaders from downloading new viruses. So a good firewall has to be there in order to prevent hacker attacks. Check above for a good firewall. There are other tools which prevent the installation of malware.

(i)A safe & fast Browser
Any software that's made will have some holes in it & it takes time to fill these holes in software. The same is the case with browser. It also has some glitches and it takes some time to fix these vulnerabilities in browser. Majority of the people in world uses Internet Explorer. So this is most attacked browser by hackers. They try each and every way to exploit the browser to find a way to access a PC and steal important information. Now-a-days a browser became the gateway for hackers. So using a safe and powerful browser will keep your PC away from 50% of infections. Here are the alternatives for IE.
1) Firefox
2) Opera
3) Maxthon
4) Safari
5) K-Meleon

(ii) Antispyware Watchdogs
A good browser may also have some cons. So we have to give your browser a second protection which will make your browser more stronger and safer.
SpywareBlaster
It prevents the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted software.Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.Restrict the actions of potentially unwanted sites too.
WinPatrol
It inspects several Windows system spots that malware is most likely to alter, including programs launched at start-up, browser helper objects, scheduled tasks, services, and cookies & prevents it.
So once you remove infections from your PC don't forget to prevent them.
Be safe surfing internet...
